Christmas is for Kids
The Gaffney Ledger’s Christmas is for Kids program began with the idea that for every $100 raised one underprivileged child could go on a shopping spree to buy toys and clothes for Christmas. The annual shopping day is held the Saturday before Christmas at Walmart. Children are chosen to participate by the Department of Social Services, the Boys and Girls Club, Disabilities and Special Needs Board, Parents of Preschoolers, and other community organizations.
Harbor of Hope provides shelter for homeless individuals and for victims of abuse. This agency helps coordinate assistance from social works and health providers.
